Heater rollers from INTEGRAL

for optimized performance

Technical bulletin 01/09/06

The market for heater rollers is getting increasingly confusing. Almost daily there are new suppliers on the market, making low priced offers. Therefore it is increasingly more important to not only compare the price but also the performance and life of a roller.

Below please find some important facts that explain heater rollers distributed by INTEGRAL are the right choice.

Quality heater rollers from INTEGRAL are produced in the following way:

-         The substrate is grounded.

-         There is a primary coating.

-         Additionally there are two coating layers.

-         In case of rollers marked "long life", the rollers have a
hard coat layer for extended life.

-         There is a conductive spray coating inside the roller
for a better and more even distribution of the temperature.

Usually rollers of a lesser quality which are often offered at very low prices in the market don't have the same properties. Therefore such rollers should not be chosen without further consideration. Often such rollers of lesser quality don't have a primary coating and are made only with a single coating layer. Additionally the coating often is a very soft coating, which does not reach the necessary copy/print life.

Usual problems reported for such low quality rollers is that the life is significantly too low and that the coating often pops off from the roller.

The result is customer dissatisfaction and significantly increased service costs.

The use of quality rollers such as supplied by INTEGRAL assures customer satisfaction and lower service costs.

So when comparing roller suppliers please always make sure to obtain full information about the properties and performance of the rollers offered.

The average life measured on heater rollers from INTEGRAL is around 100,000 copies in case of rollers for copiers up to 40 cpm and 400,000 to 500,000 copies on INTEGRAL's long life rollers for high speed equipment.

Additionally roller life depends on external factors such as e.g. the quality of the toner that is used. Different toners have different adhesion properties and contamination levels.

When using INTEGRAL toner you are making sure to have a trouble free operation of the copiers and to minimize roller contamination.
